Studio 188 design has taken us out of our comfort zone with greys, blacks and whites from our traditional earthy tones creating a beautiful relaxing, warm inviting new family room!!! There were many key players in this project, kudos to the “trades”, from the feature fireplace wall creation to our colour ceilings with wrap around crown moulding. No project can progress without surprises and adjustment to budgets but along the way Roberta stayed on track and continued to push us to new limits with new bold print designs, feature chairs to grey painted ceilings. We love our new room and our family and friends agree. It’s hard for us to believe this is the same room we started with and now this is our favourite room in the house. Roberta made our renovations a fun experience from picking out colours to shopping. Really the challenge was keeping my excitement in control, thank you Roberta it was a pleasure working with you. Home Update
Studio 188 design took my newly purchased home, stuck in the 1980's, and updated it, including a modern conceptual design for a new laundry room which has been completed on time and on budget. I will definitely contact studio 188 design for other upcoming projects. JW - Hamilton
Bath Design & Renovation
Several months ago, we engaged studio 188 design to renovate our ensuite bathroom. We wanted to live with the changes that were done before commenting on the renovation but can enthusiastically report that WE ARE THRILLED with our renovation. Roberta and her team took an outdated ensuite – elevated corner tub that no one used, extremely tight shower stall, one sink vanity and open toilet area and transformed it into a modern, convenient retreat. We have a massive 5’ by 5’ shower area with rain-head and hand-held shower all encased in a warm, stacked tiles and a bronzed glass tile band. We opted for a removable teak stool rather than a built-in bench and for us; this choice was right. We now have a long vanity area with double sinks and the surrounding mirrors and light fixtures make the space delightful to use. Roberta was inventive in coming up with a cost-effective solution to create a private water closet – which is much appreciated. The changes allowed enough space to put in a substantial (8’ by 3’) cupboard to hold supplies and even our laundry hampers in the lower section. It was a very collaborative process to work with Roberta and her team. They came up with many effective recommendations to work with the things we had in mind for the renovation. J & M W – Oakville
Design Layout
I have used studio 188 design for layout advice during our last two moves, both downsizing. Knowing what goes where ahead of time gives you an idea of what to keep and what to dispose of. Also on move-in day furniture placement was a breeze. DM – St. George/Burlington
Bath Design & Renovation
I recently had the pleasure of working with studio 188 design. The scope of work included redesigning two bathrooms, colour consultation for the main hallway, and project managing all of the work by their contractors. I was very pleased with how the work progressed and with the final results. It’s now been a few months since the work was completed, and I’m still very happy. What I liked about the design work is that the results were both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. Roberta provided great advice, making suggestions we never thought of, and advised on what items to buy/re-use. There were certain things we wished to splurge on, but Roberta also provided suggestions to economize on other items where it made sense, without sacrificing function/quality. Her colour suggestions and artwork placement recommendations were wonderful. From a project management perspective, there was excellent communication. Any issues were identified, with recommended solutions. Scope changes and costs were discussed in advance of the work, with changes being approved in writing. As our house is an old one, some surprises were inevitable, but we also had some “may as well do now” changes, which were less expensive in the long run. The contractors used by studio 188 design were fantastic. Their workmanship was impeccable. Since they spent more time in my house than I did during the deconstruction/construction, it was also great that they were so trustworthy. I would highly recommend working with studio 188 design. Would I hire them again? Definitely – in fact, I am now looking at doing future work with them. AT – Hamilton West Durand

"A new paint job & re-hanging artwork and it feels like we are starting the year in a new house. Thanks to Colin & Sylvie for getting the paint on while we were away. A big shout out to Earls Court Gallery for framing & inspiration. We could never have done this without Roberta of studio 188 design." SG - Hamilton
Kitchen Design & Renovation
Even after looking at the 3D layouts I really wasn’t sure that the proposed new layout would make that much of a difference. Boy was I wrong! The moving of the refrigerator to the other side of the room made this 9’ x 9’ kitchen look bigger. The repositioning of the kitchen sink under the window freed up a lot more storage space. I was also very glad that I was convinced to replace, other than patch, my existing floor. I still cannot get over how well the new vinyl plank floor matches the existing hardwood. Throughout the project I was given very good advice and very glad I took it. Roberta’s “A” team, as she calls them, are a very informative, respectful, reliable and a hard working group of individuals. In addition, Roberta provided me with good, sound professional advice in the picking of the cabinet style, counter top, back splash, colours and the new flooring. And to top it off she made me a custom designed valance for my kitchen window out of left over upholstery fabric that matches my sofa. Perfect as this is an open concept area. Everything flows so nicely. Oh and most importantly the project was on time and within budget. EK – Hamilton West Mountain

What a tranquil oasis! Your room is absolutely perfect! You should be proud. it is one of the most noteworthy spaces that I’ve seen from our people in our history of the tours.
